Mountain Area Regional Arts & Crafts Guild
The Guild supports and promotes its working artists and crafters members from the North Georgia and North Carolina mountain area. The 60+ members work in many different media and over 40 of the members are also a part of ArtWorks Artisan Centre. ArtWorks is a retail store selling the work of Guild members and also houses the classrooms where Guild members teach, sharing their expertise with students on a regular basis.
This program is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA also receives support from its partner agency - the National Endowment for the Arts.
Please consider supporting the Arts for Local Youth in Our Community
Mountain Regional Arts and Crafts Guild, founded in 1990, is a 501 (c)3 non-profit charitable organization that promotes and encourages local artists. The Guild gives artists opportunities to display and sell their juried works at ArtWorks in Hiawassee and at local shows. Guild members also offer classes for you and adults at ArtWorks.
The Guild is committed to supporting the visual arts education of children in our community. Children's classes are held over 4 weeks during the summer. This past summer 70 children participated. Cost to families was kept affordable thanks to community donations. Scholarships are available for disadvantaged children. We encourage the community to assist us in continuing and expanding opportunities for 2016 youth classes with donations and/or memorial gifts to our general scholarship fund. The fund allows the Guild to offer partial or full scholarships for children to attend summer classes. The fund may also allow the Guild to award a scholarship to a high school senior from Towns, Union, or Clay County to pursue further education in visual arts.
Please consider a gift for a good cause that will bless children in our community. Visit our sponsorship page to see the different levels available. Checks may be payable to " MRACG Scholarship" and mailed to PO Box 1047, Hiawassee, GA. 30546. Credit card donations may be received at ArtWorks, Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law and donation receipts are available upon request. Memorials will be acknowledged on our web page.
